How Do I Get A Real Estate License

You may wonder ‘How do I recruit negotiators (REN)? or ‘How do I open up my own estate agency?’ or ‘How to make money in real estate?’. The answer to those questions is to get a real estate license. A real estate license will enable you open your own estate agency and recruit negotiators to work for you and close more real estate transactions.

There are a few steps before you can get your real estate license. Here is a quick guide to help you:

1. Step 1: Ensure you have met the entry requirements

To obtain your real estate license, you must first obtain your Diploma in Estate Agency qualification. In order to qualify for this course, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be 17 years of age or above.
• Have a Minimum of SPM or equivalent Qualification with passes in 5 subjects where 3 of them should be credit level passes. One of the credit subjects must be either Mathematics, Science, Accounts, Commerce.
• Pass in Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or equivalent ?

2. Step 2: Begin Your Diploma in Estate Agency at Good Institute

3. Step 3: Sit for the Board Examinations (BOVAEP)

Students shall sit for the Board examinations each year, taking first Part 1 and then Part 2.

Once you have passed both parts of the BOVAEP examination, you will be able to obtain your Diploma in Estate Agency awarded by BOVAEP.

5. Step 5: Complete 2 Year Probation Period

After completing this course, you will be on a 2 year probation period prior to receiving your real estate license. 

6. Step 6: Obtain Your Real Estate License

There shall be an interview upon completion of the 2 year probation. You will obtain your real estate license upon passing the board interview.
